There are many who need to practice gluten free cooking. You might be one and not even know it. Gluten sensitivity affects about one out of one hundred and thirty people in this country. If you have these symptoms you might have to have a gluten free diet. If you experience excessive bloating are abdominal pain after eating this might simply mean that you over ate.

This might mean you just over ate. But if you feel this way on a regular basis no matter how much you eat you might have a gluten sensitivity. Gluten is the part of bread dough that makes it gooey. It is an protein and is present in rye, barley, and wheat. Since it is common to many everyday products if can be difficult to avoid.

But with the fact that more and more people are being diagnosed with gluten sensitivity more and more food companies are offering gluten free products. You can find gluten free bake mixes for bread or pastries. You can even find gluten free snacks like potato based pretzels. As companies see a market for gluten free products there will be more released on the shelves of your favorite super markets.

Also restaurants are seeing a market for gluten free dishes. If they have gluten free meals on their menu they are going to attract paying customers who cannot find their gluten free meals at other eateries. But if you like to cook you will want to prepare your own gluten free foods. You can use various substitutions. You can use soy flour verses wheat flour when making home baked bread.

But you can also use rice flour. And you can prepare your own rice flour in your kitchen. You will want to start off with long grain brown rice. White rice has had the husks removed along with the nutrients found in brown rice. You will need a blender that can grind rice into flour. There are blenders on the market that are used to grind fruits and vegetables into smoothies and soups.

These are high powered blenders that you can find online. You then take the rice flour and mix it with about a quarter cup of the soy flour. You then mix in black strap molasses; and also baking soda and baking powder and two eggs. One guy who cooks gluten free also adds about a cup of instant potato mix. This helps bind the flours together.

Add just enough water to mix it into a smooth but not runny concoction. This does does not need yeast. Then pour the mix into a bread pan and put into a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about an hour. Then remove it from the oven and let cool. This is a great tasting bread that is gluten free.

Now you will find many cookbooks on gluten free cooking now that more and more people are identifying this food sensitivity. You can also find online many good cooking videos demonstrating gluten free cooking recipes. If you think you might have a gluten sensitivity discuss this with your doctor before you make any diet changes.

We all are guilty of at times eating so much that we feel bloated or lethargic and feel we need to lie down and recover. But if this happens many times and you do not regularly overeat perhaps you need to try a gluten free diet. Gluten is an amino acid found in wheat, barley, and rye. It is what makes bread gooey if you have made bread dough before you know this.

But it is also the part of bread that actually causes the body’s immune system to attack its own digestive system. Many people have this disorder and are not even aware of it. In fact one out of every 150 people in this country has a problem with gluten allergy. It is not easy to get past eating gluten. Wheat is found in most breads and pastries.

Even though gluten is very prevalent in our everyday foods, bread, cereal, pastries, you can learn to avoid these foods. You can eat around gluten if you try. For parents of autistic children it is a well worth attempt to have their children eat a gluten free diet. Recent studies show that gluten has an adverse affect on autistic children. Eliminating gluten from their diet have helped their condition.

Limiting gluten in their diet has helped these autistic children. You of course want to consult with your medical doctor and nutritionist to see if you truly have gluten sensitivity. If you do you can take steps to eating a healthy diet.

There are many products on the market to make your job of eating gluten free easier. Before companies started targeting the gluten free population, people had to prepare their own gluten free breads with products like soy flour.

Now you can find many gluten free foods on the super market shelves. There are gluten free pretzels made from potatoes. There are bread mixes gluten free you only have to add water to make. But if you are thinking about how hard it is to eat out at restaurant you are right.

However, there are now some restaurants that are offering gluten free meals on their menus. Like many people eating out at a restaurant you might have been blaming the restaurant for you bloated feeling. When really it was your gluten sensitivity causing the problem. The problem for many was that this condition is difficult to diagnose. And before the right diagnosis can be made you go through a lot of tests and a lot of pain.

Many people suffer from abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea before the right diagnosis is made. It is unfortunate that many misdiagnoses have to be made before the right one is found. But if you do think you might be allergic to gluten stop eating foods that contain gluten and monitor your condition. You can then go to your doctor and discuss your situation. If you do have sensitivity to gluten there are many products available to help you eat healthy and enjoy eating at the same time.

Do you suspect your child has food allergies? Even if you have your child tested by a doctor you may find those tests are not fully reliable when it comes to diagnosing food allergies children. Of course, allergy tests can give you a good indication and can help identify specific allergens.

Sometimes, doctors will dismiss the possibility of food allergies if testing for them does not cause a reaction. Some food allergies and food sensitivities can’t be found with a laboratory test though. The only way to uncover them is through the process of dietary elimination.

In fact, diet modification is one of the best ways you can treat food allergies children. Simply avoid those foods you suspect are allergens by buying certain types of food or particular brands. However, some allergies like those to dairy or wheat might require a total dietary change.

It is even possible that you will have to give up a few of your family’s favorite dishes. Before doing that though, search for recipes that use alternative ingredients for similar dishes. You may be able to substitute almond milk for cow’s milk and soy cheese for dairy cheese and create a dish that is nearly the same as the original.

Your child will probably not be happy when you make changes to his diet. He has comfort foods he loves just like you do. You can expect a few unhappy meals at first and maybe even a few temper tantrums. Just remember it is for your child’s better health.

If your child is old enough to understand, you can try explaining the basics of food allergies to your child. This works well with children who realize that they shouldn’t feel so tired or ill all the time, usually by age 8 or 9.

If your child is younger, you may need to make changes to his diet gradually. Of course that is only an option if his allergies are not life threatening or serious. For example, if your child is allergic to dairy foods, replace a yogurt snack with fruit and omit the cheese from his sandwich. That will reduce the amount of dairy in his diet and he might not even notice the change.

Use your child’s allergy problem to improve the overall diet of every family member. That way your child won’t resent other family members if they eat junk food in front of him. While you want to blend your food choices to keep everyone happy, be careful about limiting the diet of other family members. For example, if macaroni and cheese is a family favorite, you could make two dishes. One would be made from dairy products and the other could be made from soy milk and soy cheese for your child with allergies. Dealing with food allergies children will take some creativity on your part but the health of your child and happiness of your family is worth it.

One way to treat food allergies children is to improve the children’s diet. Any parent must be aware of the common symptoms of food allergies.
